President's Corner is a column in Dimensions written by NCDC President/CEO Sr. Georgette Lehmuth, OSF. The column offers a spiritual look at fundraising and always emphasizes the ministry of fundraising and importance of your work for your organization's mission.
Here is a sample of the type of material found in President's Corner:
"It takes courage to lead. The word courage comes from the French word coeur, which mean heart. Leading, thus, is a matter of the heart. Jesus, above all else, taught us that.
Jesus also taught us that we cannot do it alone. All his efforts were about building relationships and building a community. And so it is with all of us. We also need a community of others to network and seek and share advice. We need others to assure us that we are not alone and a group with whom we have a common vision and where we can find a common voice.
Margaret Wheatley calls such groups "communities of practice" in which people make a commitment to be available to each other, to offer support, share learning, and work together to develop new knowledge. In such communities, the focus extends beyond itself to advance the field of practice for the common good.
I believe that the National Catholic Development Conference is such a community. We will continue to lead the Catholic fundraising community in excellent and ethical fundraising, always within the context of ministry."
