This session will specifically address using web-based technologies to publicize your mission, events and to provide your supporters with more exposure and ultimately generate more revenue for your cause. The session will include information on internet search engines, utilizing e-mail blasts and web capabilities for providing event information, managing registration, and promoting sponsorship.

In this session, you will learn:

  • The importance of web-integration for special events
  • Techniques for using search engines, e-mail blasts and other web capabilities specifically for special events
  • By viewing examples of events that have successfully used web-integration to promote their events.

Ms. Karen Perry

Ms. Perry’s experience includes positions at several leading New York ad agencies, as well as publishing and broadcast television. In addition, Ms. Perry’s training in social work has given her an inside perspective to the needs and workings of not-for-profit organizations. For the past 25 years, she has been active in the community and has served on numerous committees and boards. Ms. Perry received her M.S.W from Adelphi University and her B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University College of Communications.

Mr. Bryan Terpstra
L.W. Robbins Associates

Bryan has over 20 years of direct marketing fundraising experience. Over the course of his career, he has had responsibility for managing strategy, production, and analysis for a number of large nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining Robbins, Bryan was an Account Director in the Fundraising & Membership Services division of Epsilon, a provider of fundraising solutions. Bryan is a frequent speaker and has also authored or co-authored several industry articles.

Ms. Robin R. Riggs
L.W. Robbins Associates

Robin Riggs is Chief Creative Officer for LW Robbins in Holliston, Ma. Robin has over 25 years of experience as a writer, brand strategist, and creative director in the direct marketing industry. Starting at Epsilon, and then leading direct marketing divisions at Cabot and Arnold Advertising, her client and media experiences are deep and varied. She speaks regularly at national and regional conferences for the DMA, DMFA and AFRP. In addition, she is an advisor of Thompson Island Outward Bound in Boston.

Ms. Colleen Cowette
SilverTech, Inc.

Colleen oversees the entire Account Management group and personally manages key agency client accounts such as Metropolitan Family Services, Divine Word Missionaries, Life is good, and others. Colleen provides leadership and counsel to clients on strategy, online fundraising, information architecture, project management, and creative. She has also served more than 20 years of civic service, including serving as Executive Director of a non-profit organization and as Board Director for several regional non-profit organizations. She is an accomplished speaker and has written for Dimensions.
