This hands-on workshop will provide you with an opportunity to have your printed works critiqued by experienced writers. In addition, you will learn how to write a quality story that can be tailor-fit for various outlets such as appeals, press releases, websites and more. Don't reinvent the wheel:use one good wheel to get you where you need to go!
Planned Giving Interactive 2:00-5:00 p.m.
This interactive workshop is designed for established organizations that have yet to implement a formal planned giving program. The workshop will include basic planned giving concepts such as: policies and procedures, gift annuities, bequests, and securities/insurance, plus practical suggestions to weave concepts into a defined action plan.
Spiritual and Contemplative Dimensions of Development Ministry : Being Wholly Holy Provider 2:00-3:30 p.m.
This conference will explore Biblical and spiritual elements of development ministry, with practical suggestions for juggling and integrating development work with religious life, family life and priesthood. Format: 50 minute presentation; brief break; question and answer and discussion session.
Making Decisions Based on Mission and Values 2:00-5:00 p.m.
In this session Scott Kelley from the Office of
Mission and Values at DePaul University will use pragmatic inquiry to
guide participants through a process of ethical discernment, helping
participants to identify a core strategic or ethical challenge, use
systems thinking to analyze the challenge, reflect on experience to
clarify relevant values, and identify a responsible course of action.
Pragmatic Inquiry builds on the rich tradition of moral discernment in
the Catholic intellectual tradition in a way that is useful for
practitioners today.
