Good Samaritan Award

The Good Samaritan Award was established in 1968 and is awarded annually at the NCDC Conference and Exposition. This award exemplifies concern for others through exceptional service. Members of religious communities, lay people, and non-NCDC members are eligible for nomination.

Criteria for The Good Samaritan Award:

  • The nominee's life of service is an outstanding example of following the Gospel message, as manifested by the Parable of the Good Samaritan.
  • The nominee's service has also made a significant impact upon the lives of persons in need (regardless of the type of need).
  • The nominee is actively engaged in, or recently associated with, such services.
  • Active documentation is available or public knowledge is sufficient to support the nomination.
  • The nominee must be available to accept the award in person at the NCDC Conference and Exposition.
  • The Executive Committee of the NCDC Board of Directors determines the final selection for the recipient of The Good Samaritan Award.
